I love my birthday. Not because I get cake and presents, well, that’s awesome too, but I take vacation around my birthday. It’s the last week of summer before the kids go back to school. For the last several years, it’s the time I get to spend with my BFF as her birthday around that time too.

But this year, it was different. It just didn’t feel right. While we went camping, I was actually not feeling well. 4 days before we left, I ran out of my NRF2 Activators. What-ev’s, I thought. The first few days were fine, It was the 5th day where I really started to feel the effects. The headaches, pain in my back and joint, urgent bladder, heartburn and fatigue set in. My insides hurt. I am hot, then cold, sweating yet my hands and feet are like ice. As the days progressed, the worse I felt. Did I mention the fatigue and lack of wanting to move?

It wasn’t until the night before my birthday, sitting in around the camp fire, with my BFF feeling extremely dehydrated, feeling like crap, despite drinking the optimal amount of water that day, craving unhealthy foods while the foods healthy foods that I normally love didn’t appeal to me at all, that I managed to come to a realization. It wasn’t until I talked things through with my BFF that I concluded I felt like crap because I stopped activating my NRF2 pathway. Who knew. I had been activated for the last few years and felt good for the last few years.

Update: The day after my birthday, and for the next 6 days, kidney stone issues popped up. If you have ever experienced it, you will know how horrible that feels.

My shipment finally came in on Friday, one week after I originally wrote the blog post and I took one immediately. It is now day 3 reactivated and I am starting to feel better, back to my old self. The pain Is gone and I have energy once again. I’ll post another update in 10 days or so.
